Following an integrated therapy concept with pharmacological and other body-related therapy approaches, psychotherapeutic strategies are also used as an essential pillar of treatment on these wards. Here, both depth psychology and behavioral therapy aspects are taken into account.
The spectrum of therapy also includes the most effective and side-effect free drug treatment possible, which is supplemented by physiotherapeutic measures and special therapies such as light treatment and waking therapy.
The psychotherapeutic treatments (individual and group therapy) are supplemented by occupational therapy, music therapy, autogenic training and progressive muscle relaxation, but also by media groups and cognitive training. A "Snoezelen room" is available as a very effective form of relaxation intervention. An important part of the treatment consists of joint cultural events and patient discussions, which deal with problems of coping with everyday, private and professional life.
