Clinical Concept

The overall concept of the clinic is based on an integrative psychiatric-psychotherapeutic approach and comprises of the following areas:

  • Two open wards (17 and 12 beds each)
  • A geriatric psychiatric ward (16 beds)
  • A department of psychosomatic medicine (10 beds, Prof. Frommer)
  • A policlinic outpatient area
  • A psychiatric-psychotherapeutic and psychosomatic day clinic area (10 spots each)
  • A research and scientific laboratory area

Diagnostically, the following are used

  • Psychopathological assessment 
  • Psychometric procedures
  • Structure and function imaging neuroimaging methods (CT, MRT, SPECT, EEG)
  • Exploration of depth psychology and behaviour therapy
  • Laboratory Diagnostics

The therapy specturm includes:

  • Differentiated psychopharmacotherapy
  • Behavioural Therapy
  • Cognitive and supportive therapy methods
  • Depth psychological/psychoanalytical methods
  • Relaxation method
  • Sociotherapy
  • Music therapy
  • Ergotherapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy.

In 2009, the clinic treated 1470 inpatients. The average treatment duration was 15.6 days. On an outpatient basis, 3582 patient contacts took place in the polyclinic.
