3rd to 5th year of study  - elective subject - Psychiatry

The elective comprises 4 SWS and takes place weekly during the semester. The elective takes place weekly during the winter and summer semester. Prerequisite is the successful participation in the course "Clinical Neuroscience I" in the 3rd year of study (psychiatry certificate).

Interested students are offered the opportunity to explore patients of all major psychiatric disease groups (psychoses, uni- and bipolar affective disorders, dementia, abnormal experience reactions, addictions) from the acute area and open wards, to make diagnoses and suggest therapeutic strategies under the supervision of a senior physician. Excursions can also be organised on request.
