Dr. Gescher, Epigenetics and Personality Structure

The research group Epigenetics and Personality Structure deals with the effects of early environmental factors on the later development of a depressive or personality disorder.

Methodological focuses are the differentiated diagnosis of the clinical picture of the disorder and associated neurocognitive and interpersonal functional impairments, as well as the analysis of epigenetic changes as a possible modulator of persistent symptoms.

The aim of the research group is to closely link basic research with clinical diagnostics and the therapy of personality disorders.

Current study: "Early traumatization and epigenetic modulation as risk factors for the development of a depressive or personality disorder".
