Before you agree to optional services (Wahlleistungen) with the clinic, please check with your private health insurance or supplementary insurance whether you are correspondingly insured for this (optional service "doctor" and optional service "accommodation").
 
Patients with civil-servant allowance (Beihilfe) should also clarify in advance with their allowance office which personal contributions or deductibles may arise when agreeing to optional services.
 
Of course, you can also book the optional services as a self-payer.
 
The fees for the optional service "doctor" are calculated by the University Hospital in accordance with the German scale of fees for doctors (Gebührenordnung für Ärzte, GOÄ).
